Second Sky's debut album, The Art of Influence, is a journey into the mind of songwriter Billy Medina as he translates experience and emotion into sonic worlds of introspection and discovery. Bassist Wes Dilorio and drummer/producer Bill Lascek-Speakman set the scene with lush soundscapes, dusty hip-hop beats, and dub musical passages.
The Art of Influence Remixed is a diverse reinvention of Second Sky's album as interpreted by an array of producers, ranging from emerging talent to veterans like Kenny Dope and Dr. Rubberfunk. Second Sky, with the help of Rhythm and Culture, hand-picked each producer to create a DJ friendly remix collection that provides a varied listening experience. The latest dancefloor sensation Moombahton is the foundation for DJ Melo's take on "Messenger," followed by another floor-filling remix by The Empresarios. Rounding out the set are dynamic renditions by Kaushik M, Holmes Ives, and an exquisitely emotional Kundalini remix of "Too Far."

On March 1st, Squirky Music is going to release The Beijing Gang - ‘Dongdan EP’. The Beijing Gang’ is producer and composer Chris Bemand. Chris has released many innovative electronic albums since his early days with acid jazzsters Marden Hill and filmic Chill Out group 45 Dip. He has collaborated with Ashley Beedle (Ballistic Brothers/Xpress 2) Rob Dougan,(Clubbed to Death) and Mark Doyle (Hed Kandi).

Dongdan is a clever, quirky fusion of classical Chinese instruments paired with contemporary beats as has ever been heard before. Chris recorded in Beijing with a handful of virtuoso musicians from Peking Opera and the resulting blend is original and unique. Chris also worked with film director Ed Bignell to produce a series of promotional videos (shot in Beijing) to accompany each single release.
Chris explains ‘I was in Beijing and found the most vibrant club scene, but they were playing generic Western music. I couldn’t understand why no home grown music was being played in the clubs and bars so I decided to experiment.” Chris set up a studio in Beijing and put his huge experience and creativity to the task of creating something modern, danceable and interesting whilst keeping the integrity of the Far Eastern flavour of the music intact. “All the musicians on the album are at the top of their game but most had never played on Western Music before and couldn’t imagine a fusion of the two styles,” commented Chris. “They were all knocked out with the finished tracks. The album is intricate but cool, a real feast for the aural senses."

Picture Book are a new production duo self-releasing their own material. The debut EP is just out now, and a remix EP is in the works. This EP is great for fans of vocal electro-pop. The song "Sunshine" makes me think of iio. "Surrender" has a chill progressive house vibe. "Terminally in Love" is a ballad. "Jealousy" is pure pop with hints of Gwen Stefani.
from the press release:: Picture Book are brothers Dario Darnell and Lorne Ashley, born in New York City and raised in Manchester, UK. Dario and Lorne have inherited a love of song writing and performing from their father August Darnell, lead singer and band leader of the legendary Kid Creole & The Coconuts.
Picture Book will release their first commercial EP 'At Last' in January 2012. The four track EP was co-written and recorded with Grammy nominated vocalist Greta Svabo Bech, who featured on Deadmau5's 'Raise Your Weapon'. The EP demonstrates the breadth of songwriting skills, from the uptempo and immediate Sunshine, to the more reflective Terminally in Love.
The lead single, 'Sunshine', was produced by Picture Book, with additional production and mixing by super hot French DJ & producer 'Hugo Leclercq. Second track 'Jealousy' was co-produced and mixed with Dan Grech, who produced The Vaccines 2011 breakthrough album. The third track, Terminally In Love, and final track, Surrender, were produced and mixed by Picture Book.
'At Last' will be closely followed by a remix package in February 2012.

Alby Daniels is releasing his deput EP - This Dawn on Black Acre Records. The EP is slated for a February 20th release date. The release format is a 12" vinyl EP.

A self-taught keyboardist, drummer and producer, 22 year old Alby Daniels started out fronting a local funk group before turning his attention to production. This Dawn is a collection of stories about introspective days and blurry nights written, arranged, performed and recorded by Alby in his bedroom studio in North London.
