On March 22nd, Betamorph Recordings is releasing the new Total Recall dubstep LP - 'Into the Skism'.
from the press release:
To certain theorists, schism energy exists as a metaphorical spell upon the human mind which disconnects us from the full magnitude of who we are. This conspiracy reveals an explanation for the fear and insecurity which paints the social mask we wear, as well as unearthing an illuminati of reptilian humanoids who secretly govern us in disguise. However, with the mass hysteria of the modern world we are gradually awakening to the enormity of existence. ‘Into The Skism’ traces this oneiric journey into our consciousness through tense beats and revelatory soundscapes.
Drawing inspiration from powerful conspiracies makes ‘Into The Skism’ a relentless passageway through multiple levels of history, humanity and knowledge. It derives extra strength from the fact that the focus is always on allegory, rather than allusion. This means that when Total Recall reference more abstract ideas, the beats stay sincere. ‘Lizard People’ exposes the shape shifting alien lizards that have infiltrated our culture through symbols, and the result is a cold blooded, fast and intelligent tune. ‘Into The Skism’ is the highest quality Interdimensional Dubstep.
Here are 90 second clips of each of the songs on the release:

'Disappear Here' is the new album from Hybrid and it will be released April 12th on CD / LP / digital by Distinctive Records. 'Disappear Here' is Hybrid's fourth artist album, and the team of Chris Healings and Mike Truman have been joined by singer/songwriter Charlotte James.
Chris Healings had this to say about 'Disappear Here':
“This album offers a lot more than anything we’ve managed to write in the past. Charlotte comes from that singer/songwriter/performer world and she really inspired us to write something much more song based. Working so much with her we feel like there’s a feeling of going somewhere else or doing something that will last longer in a live capacity. The music definitely reflects our desire to be a band but firmly rooted in dance music.”
Disappear Here Tracklist
2. Can You Hear Me
3. Green Shell Suit
4. Disappear Here
5. Every Word
6. Formula of Fear
7. City Siren (Reprise)
9. Original Sin
10. Take A Fall
11. Break My Soul
The new Hybrid album is amazing and it starts off with a bang with "Empire". It's an epic, brooding piece of electronic music and immediately shows us the maturity and complexity behind the production of the album. The strings on "Empire" were performed live by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Next up is "Can You Hear Me". This track is full of energy and the interplay between the male and female vocal parts is great. "Green Shell Suit" is an instrumental electronic piece on the more chill side of things and brings back memories of other timeless Hybrid downtempo tracks.
The title track, "Disappear Here" is a real journey and showcases the magic that is the new Hybrid. "Every Word" has a subtle pulsating bass line and is another great track that features Charlotte's vocals. "Formula of Fear" has the same big energy as "Empire" and gives the listener an idea of what the group sounds like in their live performance.
"Salt" is an emotional song that is one of the real stand out tracks on the album. I couldn't stop listening to this one. "Original Sin" is reminiscent of classic Hybrid with a full electronic sound firmly rooted in tech house and nu skool breaks. "Take A Fall" is a fusion of breakbeats and electric guitars and features vocals by Tim Hutton. "Break My Soul" is going to be the first single from the album and is another huge tune like "Original Sin" but a little more chill.
The album brings us back down after a great journey with the closing track "Numb". "Numb" really showcases the talent of Charlotte James as a songwriter.

Free The Robots has an LP coming out on Alpha Pup called 'Ctrl Alt Delete'. The album drops on March 30th.
from the press release:
Alpha Pup Records is proud to announce the release of Ctrl Alt Delete, the debut album from Free The Robots. A staggering work of mind-warping electronics, fuzzed-out psych and devastating hip-hop beats, the impending release of Ctrl Alt Delete will catapult Free The Robots to the forefront of the world renowned L.A. beat scene.
Initially started as a side project by Chris Alfaro in 2003, Free The Robots has quickly garnered a worldwide audience. Combining dusty swap-meet samples, futuristic synthesizers and live instrumentation, Free The Robots has created a unique harmony of past sounds and future ruminations. Much like his L.A. contemporaries Flying Lotus and Nosaj Thing, Free The Robots knows no genre boundaries.
Ctrl Alt Delete, which also features Ikey Owens of The Mars Volta, has been a long time coming. Originally signed to Alpha Pup over two years ago, Free The Robots has put his heart and soul into this album. Meticulously constructed, the album is a culmination of countless late nights at Low End Theory Club, combined with a spirit of fearless experimentation. The result rattles with grit and swagger -- a firm proclamation of Free The Robot's sonic arrival.

Jump Jump Dance Dance is an L.A. band that plays a fun style of indie dance music. I am not the biggest fan of the indie dance genre, as it often borders on rock too much for my tastes, but there are groups that stand out, and Jump Jump Dance Dance is on the way to being the next big thing. I think people that like The Faint and similar acts will also dig Jump Jump Dance Dance.

Bonobo is releasing the Black Sands LP on March 23rd in the U.S. and March 29th to the rest of the world. The album is being released on the famous Ninja Tune label. The album features Andreya Triana (of Flying Lotus Reset EP fame) on vocals on two of the tracks.

Simon Green aka Bonobo returns with his fourth, most eagerly-anticipated and most accomplished album to date, the magnificent "Black Sands." Green proves once and for all with "Black Sands" that he is an artist and producer with his sights set on much higher prizes than to rule any dusty subgenre of dance music. This is a record of epic reach and massive emotional pull, all held together by Green's understanding of composition and arrangement of live instruments (most of them also played by him) as well as his complete mastery of the tricks and techniques of the digital age.

It's all quite simple really. Go to the competition homepage and upload a piece of your music. It can be anything from your cutting-edge dubstep to the oompah-band you play in. Anyone visiting the site can vote for their favorite from among the music which has been uploaded.
