There will be contests - so all you producers / remixers be ready to work your magic. There will be new music videos. For our musical enjoyment in this post, we've got some new stuff from people we have featured before, including an original electro track from the Disco Wizards and another big club remix of a house classic from Ranny. We've also got a great breakbeat track from the Lightshapers. 5 new songs in all for you to download and groove to!

{Ranny}

This first one is a HUGE house anthem that has seen a lot of remakes and remixes over the years. D.O.N.S. has previously re-worked the Technotronic classic 'Pump Up the Jam' and now they have done a great job with remaking this hit. Ranny gives us a remix that is great for the clubs and one-offs. If you are looking for a big vocal house cut, look no further! DJs - this one is 320kbps, so grab it, play it, and stop by Ranny's MySpace page and show him some love!

We have previously featured the Howard Who remix of 'Proxy' by The State of Floral Beings. This is another great remix where Howard Who takes on J-Son - a hip-hop artist from Sweden, and turns it into an uptempo club track with lots of energy.

We previously featured the Disco Wizards original track 'Diskotek' and now they are back with 'Fuck Up & Do Well'. Another track they were kind enough to give us to share that is 320kbps. This is a definite peak hour track. Pure hands-in-the-air electro action.

We love breaks and can never seem to get enough quality breaks to share with you. Well, this gem was sent to us and we love it! The Lightshapers are a production duo from the UK with releases on labels such as Waveshape, Polar Red and Ape Music. They also have a regular show on BreaksFM. This track is really funky, with lots of variety and good energy. If you are a breakbeat fan, you should love this song.

Lots of fresh beats!

I just need to tell you quickly...as a preview...I am frantically going through my inbox grabbing music I think you really need to hear.

And I am still behind, so what that means, is that if you have enjoyed the music up until this point from the beginning, it is only going to get better!

If you have sent music, and it hasn't been posted yet, please be patient! And please continue to send us stuff - we do listen to everything that gets sent!

Thank you so much for your continued support!

The State of Floral Beings is a five-person group from Stockholm, Sweden. They have recently released a full-length album which is available for free download from their MySpace page (link below).

Their single, 'Proxy' has been remixed by a number of people, but this remix by Howard Who we especially like. This is a really unique sounding club track. Lots of energy, really well produced with a pumping beat. Everyone needs to download this one!

{Christian Fischer}

We previously featured DJ Dunno's remix of Katy Perry on Dancefloor Mayhem, and he recently dropped some more heat on us that we had to share. This is a remix of the song 'Orange Sky' by Christian Fischer. This one is a high energy club bomb - guaranteed to get some asses moving on the dancefloor!

{Omar 'Cito' Perez}

This next track comes to us from the Ritmo del Sol label which is run by Omar 'Cito' Perez - a producer and DJ from Quebec. The label churns out consistently good house music and this free mp3 is no exception.

This is a great house track. Really well produced, with lots of energy. The sound in the background is almost ethereal.

{Ranny}

Ranny is a well-traveled DJ / producer from Boston who does a wonderful job remixing Britney Spears. This remix of 'Circus' is HOT and you will love it if the club remix / diva house / tribal / circuit sound is one of your flavors. Ranny has also done remixes of The Pussycat Dolls, Donna Summer, Moby, Pepper Mashay and Bob Sinclair.

This track is a great nu-disco / electro song from Triobelisk. It is the Dmerit remix of 'Xrystal Eye'.

This is the encrypted message we received from the homeworld of Triobelisk:

Triobelisk, a mysterious entity from the outer-reaches of another dimension where modern electro is introduced to early synth pioneers Klaus Schulze, Jean Michel Jarre and Didier Mourani. Multi-layered analog synths with harder modern rhythms creating a sound that harkens back as much as it looks forward. With one foot in the past and one in the future, Triobelisk has been creating music since the early 90s when he was in a post-punk band called Frodus. Years later, he developed an obsession with 8-bit and Ableton Live and the sound has been expanding ever since to encompass a larger story that combines myth, adventure and exciting sweeping analog waveforms over a soundscape of bombast and alien worlds.

To top it all off, we have a really cool track from Portland producer / DJ and Akashik Records label boss - Chris Firenze. This track is called 'Run Free' and features some great vocal work by Laura Ivancie. Its got a deep techy vibe with some nice percussive elements. I imagine hearing this late at night on a dark, packed dancefloor.

And now for some music!

{Scott Wozniak}

This track is one of my all time favorites. Scott doesn't do too much with the track, but beefs up the bass line and edits it down to the more essential parts of the track.

January 19th, 2009 - an important day in history

We are honoring the memory of Martin Luther King Jr. today and celebrating the dawn of a new era tomorrow. There is hope in my thoughts, sun in the sky and love in my heart.

I just wanted to say a quick blurb on our pledge drive:: we do host all of the music we share on our own servers, and January is server bill renewal month, so we were thinking of having a very basic pledge drive. All we ask is that if you like the site and enjoy the music, if you could donate anything, even a few dollars, that would really help us out. The donation button is to the right, and is made possible via Paypal - you can donate via a checking or savings account, a Paypal balance, or a credit card. If you haven't used Paypal before, you will have to create an account, but it is a fairly easy and quick process and all transactions are secure.

We will come up with some kind of recognition / thank you gift for all that contribute, probably in the form of a donor roll call (you can always remain anonymous if you choose) and a special collection of free music only available to those that donate.

And how about that thing we are all here for - some great music!

{Ladyhawke}

This first song is a nice techy groover. In the club, you just let the beat ride. At the 3:28 mark it morphs into a pulsating beast. You better by now have carved out enough room on the Dancefloor to get your move on.

Welcome to the cates&dpL Make Magic Bootleg of 'Magic' by Ladyhawke. cates&dpL are a production duo hailing from right here in Portland, OR, that started producing music together in 2003. Now signed to the House Label of house labels...SF-born and world renkowned...OM Records! Their production and remix work has also been licensed for the Global Underground Paris mix from Nick Warren, featured on James Zabiela’s DJ Mag covermount CD and achieved #1 placement on Beatport’s Breaks Downloads.

I hope the guys can forgive for adding a twist to the name of the bootleg. They had simply termed it 'Bootleg' but I thought that did little justice to the amazing piece of dance music they crafted. They really did 'Make Magic'.

I had heard of Claude VonStroke before this track, but was not the biggest fan. When this track broke, I was stunned by its' brilliance. It is complex and deep, while at the same time light and danceable. This track or some remix of it almost never leaves the music selection that I take with me to play a show. I'm glad the original clocks in at just over 6 minutes as it gives me time to bust a move on the floor once I have my next track cued up.

Once all the elements of the song are assembled, this could even be a hands-in-the-air anthem in the right situation. DJs - if you haven't played this before, download it and play it out - this is a 320Kbps version.

{Lady GaGa}

This is more of a tweak or mashup than a true remix, though it is still fun and makes it a little more tolerable in the club.

About 35 seconds in you begin to tap your foot, the tension builds and builds and you start to crave the drop of the beat. The track begins swirling in a cloud of reverb before it drops into the original version of the track - which is very fun. At the end it swirls back out into a beat you very well may recognize.

Happy New Year!!!

It is 2009, hard to believe. 2008 was a blur. We here at Dancefloor Mayhem had a great year, working hard to promote ourselves and share good music with our readers.

We are always looking for fresh tracks and remixes to feature on the site, and DJ mixes to feature on our weekly internet show on Techno.FM. Also in the creation process is a Dancefloor Mayhem record label - something we feel is a natural step in development for Dancefloor Mayhem.

Dancefloor Mayhem is also a series of club nights in Portland, OR, and we would like to expand our reach in 2009. If you would like to bring Dancefloor Mayhem to your city, drop us a line! Contact us by sending e-mail to: dancefloormayhem @ gmail . com

One last thing - we do host all of the music we share on our own servers, and January is server bill renewal month, so we were thinking of having a very basic pledge drive.

We'd like to take this first post to also send a HUGE heartfelt thank you to all of the support and love we received in 2008. To all the producers / remixers / labels / marketing people that we work with, this site wouldn't be possible without the music you send us to share with our readers. THANK YOU!!!

And now, for some music:

This first song is featured on the 'Herbert Hatrack EP' from The Nose Candies on Monsta Records. More info on Monsta Records can be found online at Prismatic Tracks. Prismatic Tracks is the parent label for Monsta Records, Prismatic and Figgin'. The Monsta concept is a very unique and fun label - each EP is named after a new Monsta - complete with clothes and a Monsta toy designed for each new creation.
